Aung San Suu Kyi, Burma's pro-democracy leader and Nobel Peace laureate, symbolises the struggle of Burma's people to be free.

She has been detained for over 13 years by the Burmese regime for campaigning for human rights and democracy in Burma.

The United Nations has ruled that Aung San Suu Kyi's detention is illegal under international law.

As Aung San Suu Kyi approaches her 64th birthday, the RSA brings together a distinguished panel to pay tribute to her lifetime of patriotism, sacrifice and commitment to the cause of freedom and democracy.

Speakers:

Stephen Crabb MP for Preseli Pembrokeshire, chairman of the Conservative Party Human Rights Commission and member of the House of Commons International Development Select Committee; Zoya Phan, exiled Burmese political activist and International Coordinator for Burma Campaign UK; Khun Saing, former political prisoner from Burma and Ivan Lewis MP, Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.

Chair: Anna Roberts, director, Burma Campaign UK
