RSA Keynote

Shadow Chancellor Alan Johnson MP will discuss the circumstances that led to the creation of the budget deficit. He will correct a number of powerful myths in circulation about the specific circumstances of the British economy at the time. He will also argue that while it must remain the priority of the government to tackle the deficit this can be done in a way that is fairer and less damaging to the long term needs of the economy.

Speaker: Alan Johnson MP, Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer

Chair: Matthew Taylor, RSA Chief Executive.
