RSA Debate
Not just the most hotly contested in years, the 2010 UK general election has also been enlivened by a riptide of digital media innovations which have transformed the character of campaign, the relationship between the parties and the public, and the engagement between candidates and citizens.
Join us in a Question Time style session, for a formal review of the election with top speakers from the digital leadership of all three parties, key media commentators, and two of the most sought after US political strategists from the United States.
Panel to include:
From the US: Mindy Finn, Republican political consultant and new media grassroots fundraising marketing expert and Joe Trippi, political strategist and campaigner
From the UK: Anthony Painter, commentator and journalist on politics in the UK, EU & US; Mark Pack, Head of Digital at Mandate Communications and co-editor Lib Dem Voice; Stella Creasey, Labour Parliamentary candidate for Walthamstow; Mark Hanson, new media strategist and associate editor, labourhome.org; Craig Elder, online communications editor, the Conservative Party; Harry Cole, editor, torybear.com; Alberto Nardelli, creator of tweetminster.co.uk; James Crabtree, managing editor, Prospect Magazine
Chair: Charlie Beckett, director, POLIS
This event is organised with Personal Democracy Forum (PdF), and Onalytica to discuss the most creative and high impact uses of digital media during the election campaign.
