RSA Thursday

Renowned social psychologist Timothy Wilson visits the RSA to propose a radical new view of the world, and human psychology.

In his new book 'Redirect' Professor Wilson reveals how many conventional psychological therapies and interventions, including most self-help books, can do us more harm than good. Presenting the very latest research, he shows that the key to transforming our lives lies simply in learning to redirect the stories we tell ourselves. His revolutionary approach reveals how reshaping our internal narratives can increase our personal well-being and transform our understanding of human behaviour.

Blowing the whistle on failed attempts to solve a broad range of problems such as teen violence and pregnancies, or how best to deal with trauma, Timothy Wilson  offers a range of new practical advice that has, crucially, been tested scientifically and foun to have real results.

Speaker: Timothy Wilson, Sherrell J. Aston Professor of Psychology at the University of Virginia.
