RSA Debate
An ambitious programme of constitutional reform was a key element of the Coalition settlement, with the government promising reform to match the 1830s.
But can agreement be reached on the range of reforms necessary to increase democratic accountability? And which measures, in particular, would improve the capacity and standing of the House of Commons?
The RSA and the Hansard Society bring together an expert panel to debate how governments rule, and how this could change.
Keynote speaker: Stein Ringen, Professor of Sociology and Social Policy, Green College, Oxford
Discussants to include: Zac Goldsmith, Conservative MP for Richmond Park & North Kingston; George Parker, Political Editor, FT; Margaret Hodge, Labour MP for Barking and Dagenham and chair, Public Accounts Committee.
Chair: Fiona Booth, Chief Executive, Hansard Society
In association with the Hansard Society
