Join us for a special preview screening of the second episode of The Family, followed by a Q&A with director Jonathan Smith, executive producer, Magnus Temple and Channel 4 Deputy Head of Documentaries, Simon Dickson.

The Family is a major new eight-part observational documentary series, which lifts the lid on family dynamics to build a revealing and intimate portrait of life in Britain today.  

Directed by BAFTA-winning Jonathan Smith, The Family was filmed over one hundred days and nights, and combines traditional observational documentary film making techniques with purpose built camera technology.

The Hughes family, from Canterbury in Kent, agreed to be filmed round the clock, offering a unique insight into our most cherished social institution. The result is a touching and heart warming series that chronicles the highs and lows of every aspect of family life.

The first episode of The Family will be broadcast on Channel 4 on 17 September, 9pm.
