The RSA in association with Banyak Films presents a documentary-film about mass collaboration, the internet and its power to transform society.
Join us for this special screening and discussion.
Chair: JP Rangaswami, Managing Director, BT Design
Directed by Ivo Gormley, Us Now follows the story of online networks whose radical self-organising structures challenge existing notions of hierarchy. Ebbsfleet United, a football club owned and run by its fans, all 35,000; and Zopa, a bank in which everyone is the manager.
Us Now takes a look at how the internet’s capacity to create new participatory structures could transform governance and deepen democracy. With contributions from Clay Shirky, Tom Steinberg, Matthew Taylor, MT Rainey and other fore-most thinkers in the field of participative governance, Us Now, also has contributions from politicians George Osborne MP and Ed Miliband MP on the possibilities for the internet to enhance democracy.
