Tassos Stevens

Tassos Stevens is a runner and director of Coney, an agency of adventure making live interactive crossplatform play where the audience can take a leading role, happening wherever they are. Coney itself plays like a game of secret society, with a community of artists, makers and players taking codenames and gathering in rooms and a walled garden online to make stuff through play.

Recent work include: A Small Town Anywhere, theatre with no performers but the  playing audience, Time Out Critics Choice at BAC where Coney have been supported artists; A Cat Escapes, a pilot Adventure in Learning in a primary school in Tooting; Hutong, a remote collaboration with a Beijing-based artist.

Coney have been commissioned by the National Theatre, LIFT, the Science Museum and Dana Centre, Dublin Fringe Festival, NESTA, Metal, and publishers Hodder & Stoughton, and designed and run games for Come Out and Play and Hide and Seek.

Tassos himself conceived The Soho Project for the London Games Festival, is developing interactive crossplatform projects with the BBC and C4, and also designing a 4IP-commissioned game for the iPhone in collaboration with Somethin' Else. Last year he spoke at Shift Happens, Manchester International Festival Talent Campus, Arts Council Decibel, the Serious Games Institute, Crossover, and Playful. He is an award-winning theatre director and maker, writer, teacher and game-designer with a doctorate in Psychology.
