Anthony Giddens is former director of the London School of Economics and Political Science and the author of 'The Politics of Climate Change'.
Anthony Giddens is Emeritus Professor of sociology at the London School of Economics and Fellow of King’s College Cambridge. He was Director of the LSE from 1997 to 2003, and became a member of the House of Lords in 2004. He authored over thirty books, which were translated in at least as many languages. His works include the textbook Sociology, which sold over a million copies worldwide, Capitalism and Modern Social Theory, and The Third Way. In recent years, Giddens became active in the field of climate change and energy security. In 2009, he published The Politics of Climate Change in which he urges the political community to move away from politics-as-usual and take more decisive action on this agenda. Ever since, he has continued to be an active voice in the debate, raising awareness and building cross-sector collaboration to advance the development of solutions to these pressing global challenges.
