Krishnan Guru-Murthy is one of the UK’s highest profile on-screen television talents. He currently graces our TV screens as anchor of Channel Four’s News at Noon and Evening News programmes, but he has been an almost constant presence on them since the late 1980s.
An award-winning journalist, Krishnan first came to the public’s attention as presenter of BBC Two’s DEF II strand Open to Question. In his 10 years at the BBC - which were interrupted by reading PPE at Oxford University - his credits included reporter and/or presenter on shows as diverse as Janet Street-Porter’s youth current affairs series Reportage, Newsround, Network East and Newsnight.
Krishnan joined Channel Four as a news reporter and presenter in 1998. But his versatility has seen him presenting shows like the controversial The Autopsy and hosting the channel’s quiz show Number One. Popular as well as cerebral, Krishnan has also appeared as a guest on entertainment shows such as The F Word and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
