R. Beau Lotto is a neuroscientist and head of Lottolab at University College London and Lottolab studio in Devon.
He has published over 50 journal articles, book chapters and reviews, is co-author of Why We See What We Do, 2003 and author of Colouring the Mind, 2009. His colour illusions are used by scientists, artists, teachers, museums and galleries around the world. Lottolab explores how humans, bees and virtual robots see colour, in order to gain a more general understanding of principles of adaptive biological patterns. Lottolab studio applies these principles in presentations and installations of colour and sound at art galleries, science museums and on radio and television to inspire a more empathetic view of human nature.
