Dr Max Malik has had a highly successful career in hospital medicine and General Practice as well as complementary medicine. He was working as a doctor in the RAF Stafford Air Force base when the attacks occurred on September 11 2001. Max grew up in Britain, and as a result of a mixed ethnic background has travelled extensively, and so has gained knowledge of many cultures, religions and philosophies. He has worked in the States and Asia.

Max has also researched the causes of violent extremism amongst some young people.

Max won the Muslim Writers' Awards, Creative Writer of the Year 2007, for a combination of his earlier writing and his latest book, The Butterfly Hunter which has also been shortlisted for the Brit Writers Awards Published Writer 2011.

Max has written radio plays and short stories and is currently writing the screenplay for a film based upon the novel of The Butterfly Hunter.
