David Nussbaum is Chief Executive of WWF-UK.
After studying theology at Cambridge and Edinburgh universities, David joined Price Waterhouse and
qualified as a chartered accountant. He moved into venture capital with 3i plc
and later into manufacturing industry, ending up as Finance Director of Field
Group plc. He then joined Oxfam in 1997 where he was Finance Director and a
Deputy Chief Executive. In 2000 he was seconded for six months to head up
Oxfam's operations in India.
In 2002 David joined Transparency International, the leading global
anti-corruption organisation with a presence in over 100 countries, where he
was Chief Executive based at the International Secretariat in Berlin.
In addition to his WWF-UK position, he is a non-executive director of Low
Carbon Accelerator and of Shared Interest Society. The former is a fund which
invests in technology-based companies which will contribute to a low-carbon
economy; the latter is one of the world's principal fair trade finance
organisations which lends to producers and buyers in some 40 countries.
