Alom Shaha is a physics teacher who also works as a TV producer, science writer and science communication consultant. He has a strong track record of making science and other difficult ideas easy to understand for mass audiences and has worked as a creative consultant on projects ranging from community arts events to children's TV programmes. His creative approach to science communication has been recognized with a NESTA fellowship. Alom specialises in working closely with scientists to help them tell their own stories.

His most recent project is a collaborative film and blog project which asks the question “Why is science important?” to people who feel the importance of science so deeply that they have dedicated their lives to it — working scientists, science writers and science teachers.
