Major Ivor Telfer is the Assistant Secretary for Programme at the Salvation Army.

Ordained as a Salvation Army Officer in 1984, Major Telfor was stationed in Newry in Northern Ireland from 1984 to 1988 during the height of the Troubles. Major Telfer spent 4 years as Director of The Salvation Army Afghan Refugee Project in Peshawar, Pakistan looking after 7 refugee camps with 120,000 registered refugees. He has held posts in the Canadian Salvation Army and was Director of Central North Division in Manchester.
