Robert Thirkell is a TV troubleshooter and executive producer, responsible for many hit TV documentaries and formats. He specialises in formatting series at their inception, for broadcasters and production companies around the world, guaranteeing their quality, and helping series get on air. He started by creating and producing the BAFTA winning business makeover show Troubleshooter with Sir John Harvey-Jones. He went on to found the BBC Business Unit and won the first two Features BAFTAs for the pioneering formats Back to the Floor and Blood on the Carpet.
Since leaving the BBC he has sorted out dozens of series, from the The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off to Jamie's School Dinners for which he won a further BAFTA, advised many broadcasters, and taught thousands in masterclasses, around the word. He was recently voted Britain's number one producer in the Broadcast Hot 100.
