RSA's social media conference has been postponed. The conference is open to Fellows who are involved in community projects that would benefit from a web presence, but who are new to online media. Participants would be trained in social media techniques that can help them build a more collaborative local infrastructure, both online and face-to-face.

It is with great sadness that we report the death of leading Bristol businessman Louis Sherwood, at the age of 67. Sherwood contributed generously to the RSA Bristol Centre and continued to do so until its closure in May 2008. When Bristol Centre’s Simon Fordham first sought Sherwood’s support for the RSA, he was told: ‘You have half an hour in which to convince me to become a Fellow and no more!’ The rest, as they say, is history. He was a valued member of our Council over many years and we shall all miss him. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family.
