Rewarding innovation in youth provision

The RSA London Region’s annual Award for Innovation in Youth Provision in London is now open for submissions. First prize is £2,000 with two further runner-up prizes of £500. Prizes will be awarded to youth groups or similar bodies for projects that improve facilities for young people between the ages of 12 and 18.

2009 marks the second year the award scheme has been running. Last year’s prize was awarded to a youth group based in Hackney, East London who plan to make a short, reflective film about their lives on the Fawcett estate. They were presented their prize in May 2008, in co-operation with the youth organisation Kids Count, by Minister of State for Schools and Learners, Jim Knight MP.

The deadline for applications for this year’s award is Wednesday 18 March 2009. The awards will be presented at The House of Commons on Tuesday 21 April 2009. All applications should be sent to Elinor Pritchard.
