RSA South Central AGM and Distinguished Lecture

Saturday July 10th 2010 1030 for 1100 start

Notice is given that the South Central Region AGM will be held on Saturday July 10th 2010 at the Allsebrook Lecture Theatre, Talbot Campus, University of Bournemouth BH12 5BB (Tea/coffee at 1030, AGM at 1100, followed by lecture and buffet lunch).

Fellows are invited to nominate candidates for election to the Regional Committee. Nominations should give the proposer's and nominee's full contact details, be received by the Secretary by noon on Saturday June 26 2010, and confirm that the nominee's consent has been obtained.

Following the AGM there will be a lecture entitled “A Witness to History” given by the distinguished academic and broadcaster, Professor Sean Street FRSA. Sean, Director of the Centre for Broadcasting History Research, will be introduced by Professor Barry Richards, Dean of Research at Bournemouth University’s Media School. Sean’s lecture will reflect on the completion of a major project to digitise the Independent Radio News audio archive – an archive that is available to use as a resource for education, and includes for example, material from the Thatcher years, the Falklands War and the end of Apartheid.

There is no charge for attending the AGM and lecture. A buffet lunch will be provided after the lecture - the cost of which will be borne from regional funds.
