RSA Yorkshire Events Winter 2012

RSA Music Inspiration | Yorkshire Regional Initiative
Wednesday 8 February 6:30pm-9:15pm
The Bar Convent, 17 Blossom Street, York YO24 1AQ

Help us to shape Music Mentoring, which could become one of the most exciting developments in education in Britain today.  We wish to link aspiring young performers with some of the best instrumental and singing professionals who will become RSA Music Mentors.  The aim is to give young people of any background opportunities and aspirations way beyond what they might have dreamed was possible, to act as an inspiration to both teachers and pupils.  This is an event for those interested in education, music and arts. We hope you will join us for an interactive open discussion with a panel including:
Stephen Williams, Director of Music, Uppingham School,
David Wigley, Performing Arts Ofsted UK Inspector and Music Adviser,
Eric Tebbitt, ABRSM Examiner, previously Chief Examiner, Trinity College of Music,
Nicholas Robinson, Headmaster, King’s College School, Cambridge and Chairman of the Trustees of ‘Future Talent’ - Music Charity set up by Duchess of Kent,
Don Pinchbeck,  RSA Trustee, Director of companies in private and third sector
Josephine Peach, Piano teacher and consultant, accompanist, academic, member of European Piano Teachers Association
Chaired by Clive Harries, Chairman, RSA Yorkshire, Examiner, ABRSM, Private teacher - organ, piano, singing - and mentor.

The RSA is uniquely placed with its history and geographical spread to lead developments in music education.  RSA Academies are a considerable success in their local areas; RSA Music Mentors would give advantages nationally to all young people involved.  The evening will include performances from three young musicians.
The cost of the event is £17 per person including supper.
