Big Ideas for Breakfast
28th Jun 2011
It's time for another RSA Big Ideas for Breakfast in Sydney. RSA Fellows have been meeting and having big ideas in coffeehouses since 1754 so we will maintain that tradition with our venue:
Vivo Cafe
388 George Street
Sydney
For previous Big Ideas for Breakfast meetings, there has been no set theme. We wanted to see what issues emerged. On this occasion, there is a theme, although it is fairly broad:
Citizen Participation and Citizenship Education
Globally, the RSA is keen to see initiatives around the involvement of citizens in the design and delivery of public policy and public services. Many Fellows also take a keen interest in citizenship education and the involvement of young citizens in the decisions that affect their lives. Specifically, we have one of our Fellows in Sydney - Keith Heggart - who is doing a PhD in citizenship education and the empowerment of young people, so we will ask Keith to start off our discussion this time.
There are limited places available for this Big Ideas for Breakfast gathering so please RSVP to let us know if you are definitely going to attend or, indeed, not going to attend.
There will be other speaker events, breakfasts and evening networking functions later this year, including a visit to Sydney by the RSA CEO Matthew Taylor. We will keep you posted.
Best wishes
