A Healthy conversation for a healthier Harwood?

21 Nov 2011

Do your social connections make you healthier or do they make you sick? The RSA has been commissioned by Blackburn with Darwen Council to look into how social connections and resources in Little Harwood could help everyone be as connected and as healthy as possible. People who are more connected to others are healthier and happier: we are asking what can be done to make this happen in Little Harwood.

With a group of local researchers, or conversationalists, we will analyse social connections, attitudes and behaviours around health, resource and health service use in Little Harwood. We will then show what this suggests for better service provision and the possibility of local enterprise and self-care initiatives.

Are you local to Blackburn?  Do you have great skills, ideas, or access to funding opportunities?

We have already found  local people who want to shape the research to help us find out all of Little Harwood's stories. Now, as part of the project we will be looking to find local people with great skills and ideas to help them set up healthy living and connectedness projects and businesses in Little Harwood.

Can you help? If yes, get in touch with Gaia Marcus in the RSA Projects team.
