Our partnerships

The RSA has partnerships with a number of organisations sharing similar goals and values, forming an international network of influencers and innovators from every field and background.  
 
These Fellowship affiliations have been developed in the interests of encouraging innovation and creativity throughout the society via the sharing of ideas and best practice.
 
Our current partners are listed below. 

ACEVO 

Acevo the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations, is the only membership body dedicated to connecting, developing, supporting and representing the UK’s third sector CEOs.

Established over 20 years ago, ACEVO is in a unique position, supporting more than 2,000 members – leaders of charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises - with a series of benefits tailored specifically to meet their needs. ACEVO also acts as a successful campaigner for third sector issues; providing a united voice for the sector’s leaders to have their opinions heard at government level.

In addition to supporting chief executives, ACEVO membership is open to those who work closely with third sector CEOs such as senior managers, chairs, trustees and public sector directors as well as out of post and retired CEOs.

ACOSVO

ACOSVO, the Association of Chief Officers of Scottish Voluntary Organisations is a unique membership organisation for leaders in Scotland’s Third Sector. ACOSVO promotes excellence in leadership and management through a range of leadership development opportunities, through peer support and through knowledge transfer and good practice sharing. Development opportunities include regional networks, a mentoring programme, an accredited leadership programme and a series of master-classes. Constituted in 2000, ACOSVO supports Third Sector leaders across Scotland.  

Benjamin Franklin House and Scholarship

Benjamin Franklin House offers a diverse range of learning activities for school groups and families. The Scholarship Centre is located on the top floor of the House and is a centre for study of the many subjects Franklin pursued.  US, UK and other scholars have access, using print and online services, to the nearly 40 volumes of Franklin's writings produced, with analysis by scholars based at Yale University, thanks to support from the US Embassy London.  A key initiative of the Scholarship Centre is the Annual Symposium at the Royal Society of Arts, an event which brings together leading names in such diverse fields as science, politics and business to discuss issues inspired by Franklin's life and work.

Winston Churchill Memorial Trust

The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust funds Travelling Fellowships and Bursaries at Churchill College Cambridge.  Each year approximately 100 Fellowships are awarded for a wide range of projects.  All British citizens resident in the UK are eligible for the annual awards. Applicants must demonstrate that their project is feasible and worthwhile, and of real benefit to their community and to the UK on return. Past award winners are people from all walks of life including nurses, artists, scientists, engineers, farmers, conservationists, carers, craft workers, artisans, members of the emergency services, sportsmen and women and young people.  The Trust's ethos is that the Fellowships are to enable men and women from all walks of life to acquire knowledge and experience abroad. In the process they gain a better understanding of the lives and cultures of people overseas and, on their return, their effectiveness at work and their contribution to the community is greatly enhanced.  The Trust also awards 10 undergraduate bursaries each year at Churchill College Cambridge, as well as supporting a postgraduate Fellowship and an Archive By- Fellowship at the Churchill Archives Centre.

City Women's Network

Active since 1978, City Women's Network is one of the longest established networks for senior professional and business women in the United Kingdom.  The network addresses the issues facing today's highly-educated and experienced career women, with aims which include encouraging more women to become directors, to take on public appointments and to become trustees.

The Clore Leadership Programme

The Clore Leadership Programme, an initiative of the Clore Duffield Foundation, aims to help train and develop a new generation of leaders for the cultural sector here in the UK. Each year it assists a number of Clore Fellows to undertake an individual programme of learning, work, research, training, and secondment, designed to develop their leadership skills and experience. It also aims to report more widely on its own work, to disseminate the lessons it learns, and to speak out more generally as an advocate for cultural leadership and excellence.

Forum UK

Forum UK is a lively network of outstanding women of diverse achievements and interests. Founded in 1989, it is part of a worldwide organisation (International Women's Forum - IWF) a network of over 4,200 women, in 62 forums, in 21 countries, and it works by sharing knowledge and ideas and providing a network of information and support for women worldwide.

Forum UK aims to strengthen the influence of women in all areas of life.  It offers unique behind-the-scenes access to special events, cutting-edge seminars, and opportunities for exchanging ideas and experiences with stimulating friends.

Fulbright Scholars

The Fulbright Program was proposed by Senator J. William Fulbright in the aftermath of World War II and is sponsored by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Under a cooperative agreement with the Bureau, the Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) assists in the administration of the Fulbright Scholar Program which sends 800 U.S. faculty and professionals abroad each year. Grantees lecture and conduct research in a wide variety of academic and professional fields.

Fulbright Alumni

Through its alumni and associate members the BFSA has developed an international network enabling all Fulbright scholars to be involved in transatlantic and international relations after their scholarship has ended. The association welcomes US Fulbright scholars to the UK, providing hospitality and a mentoring service during their stay. It also participates in the US/UK Network to assist the Fulbright Association in the US to provide a similar programme for UK grantees.

The Goodenough College 

Goodenough College was founded in 1930 as a residential college for students from The Dominions of the British Commonwealth. Its aim was to improve international tolerance and understanding amongst people on the brink of their careers by providing a forum in which they could interact. The College now consists of a community of 650 postgraduate students from over ninety countries. Goodenough College offers a unique experience through stimulating intellectual debate, fostering cross-cultural activity and providing an exceptional social environment.

Institute for Learning (IfL)

The Institute for Learning (IfL) is the professional body for teachers, trainers and assessors across further education (FE), including adult and community learning, emergency and public services, FE colleges, the armed services, the voluntary sector and work-based learning.  With more than 180,000 members, IfL represents the range and diversity of teachers and trainers involved in delivering teaching, training and learning across the FE and skills sector.  IfL strives to be a world-class professional body and is distinctive as the professional body for teachers and trainers in FE and skills.

Marshall Scholars 

Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. Up to forty Scholars are selected each year to study at graduate level at an UK institution in any field of study.  As future leaders, with a lasting understanding of British society, Marshall Scholars strengthen the enduring relationship between the British and American peoples, their governments and their institutions. Marshall Scholars are talented, independent and wide-ranging, and their time as Scholars enhances their intellectual and personal growth. Their direct engagement with Britain through its best academic programmes contributes to their ultimate personal success.  Founded by a 1953 Act of Parliament, and named in honour of US Secretary of State George C Marshall, the Scholarships commemorate the humane ideals of the Marshall Plan and they express the continuing gratitude of the British people to their American counterparts.

Royal Institution

The Royal Institution is an independent charity dedicated to connecting people with the world of science.  Research has been part of the RI for 200 years, and the tradition continues today with cutting-edge work on nanotechnology and health science.  The RI was founded in 1799, and quickly built a reputation for excellent lectures and brilliant science. Over the years they have been home to 14 Nobel Prize winners, and witnessed the discovery of 10 chemical elements.  They also host the Christmas Lectures for children, which are probably their most famous activity.  The RI moved into the Mayfair headquarters soon after their founding in 1799.  In 2008, the RI's building reopened following a £20-million refurbishment designed by Sir Terry Farrell. In the most complete reimagining of the space in their history, the RI now features three floors of museum space, elegant Georgian rooms and a cafe, bar and restaurant. 

Said Business School Alumni, University of Oxford

Oxford University's Said Business School is one of Europe's youngest and most entrepreneurial business schools, with a reputation for innovative business education.  The Alumni network, launched in 1998, assists in building a world class business and management network.  The membership now boasts over 4,000 members, making up a brilliant network of Oxford Alumni who share a common interest in business.

Teach First

Teach First is an independent charity founded to encourage top graduates, who would not normally enter teaching, to teach for at least two years in challenging secondary schools in London, North West and the Midlands. With tailored leadership training developed with over 100 employers, Teach First aims to develop the leaders of the future.

Young Achievers Trust

The Young Achievers believe that the most successful way to inspire young volunteers, campaigners and social entrepreneurs is through action based volunteering, which is led by young people and provides inspiration to others.
