Tessy Britton
South Central
I am interested in the new RSA Fellowship Council because I believe that what the RSA and its Fellows can do together far exceeds what either could achieve on their own.
I have been a Fellow for 2 years and have been a member of the South Central Regional Committee for most of that time. Close involvement in the Networks Project has been a highlight of my involvement with the RSA, and this has led to the development of the Social Spaces research project. This new project is working with the RSA and its Fellows, together with a number of other networks, to test the idea of creating a resource of participatory skills and knowledge for local communities, to help individuals develop new social initiatives collectively.
Professionally I work in education, specialising in cognition, emotion and learning processes and am a passionate advocate for young people. I am a member of the International Mind, Brain and Education Society and I am fortunate to be a member of the RSA’s Social Brain Project Steering Group.
I lecture part time on the MA Ed programme at the University of Chichester and am Director and founder of Thriving, a platform for positive social change.
