Risk Commission
Risk Commission
The Risk Commission began by exploring the sociology of risk, and then focussed on risk and childhood. Today, the RSA continues to investigate risk through a variety of prisms, which might not explicitly discuss risk, but certainly addresses the critical elements of a ‘risk society’.
In 2005, Sir Paul Judge gave an inaugural lecture on Risk and Enterprise at the 252nd session of the RSA and initiated the exploration of risk at the RSA which led to the creation of the Risk Commission.
The Commission's exploration into the sociology of risk led it to focus on the specific issue of risk and childhood. Today, the RSA continues to investigate risk through a variety of prisms which might not explicitly discuss risk but certainly address the critical elements of a 'risk society'.
