Shared Mental Models of Sustainability

This project aims to reach a consensus on a model of sustainability, widely shared within the UK, to facilitate the direction of the collective skills, insights and innovations of all individuals and organisations towards a common goal.

The project will involve a wide range of different 'stakeholders' in lectures, seminars and workshops, and use other consultation approaches, to review the implications of alternative thinking in different disciplinary and professional areas, including:

    * economics
    * sociology
    * political science
    * engineering
    * environmental science

This review examined how alternative thinking might re-define the sustainability debate and illuminate different policy options.

Achieving widespread agreement on what we mean by sustainability, sustainable living and sustainable development will enable a more efficient, joined up approach towards promoting sustainability and zero waste.

The outcome will be a marked acceleration in making UK society sustainable.
