The Millennium Project
The Millenium Project
Project Briefing
The RSA is the UK 'node' of a worldwide network of future-focused think-tanks, scholars, business planners and policy makers. This international group feeds into the Millennium project, an interdisciplinary research project which seeks to predict emerging global challenges.
What is the background?
The Millennium project was established in 1996 shaped by UN organisations, governments, corporations, NGOs, universities and creative futurists. It identified a pioneering list of 15 Global Challenges which were influential in shaping the 8 Millennium Development Goals.

Our work
Every year the Millennium Project compiles a 'State of the Future' report which brings together the collective thinking of the 'nodes', and offers evidence of global trends and issues. This annual report provides an update to the 15 Global Challenges synthesising previous years' cumulative research.
