Clive Harries
For some years I have served in the Yorkshire Regional Committee. Now Chairman of RSA Yorkshire, I am conscious that we need to build positively on the past, with a stimulating programme today leading towards a fine future.
My working life straddles arts and business. Having won an Open Choral Scholarship to King’s College, Cambridge, in 1968, and gained first class training and experience there for degrees, performance and teaching diplomas, my musical work has always been important. I have adjudicated and examined internationally, and worked with choirs, singers, instrumentalists in Cathedrals, Churches, Universities and Schools in Britain and abroad. This year I was Artist in Residence in Hong Kong during May, based at St John’s Cathedral and St Paul’s College. I examine internationally to diploma level for ABRSM, teach privately for organ, singing, piano, harpsichord to diploma level; I am also Chairman of Harries Masefield, a financial business following years of experience in financial services matters.
