David Archer
David Archer is a Director of Socia – a company that specialises in advising business leaders on working in partnerships and how to build collaborative organisations. He is also the co-author of the book “Collaborative Leadership – how to succeed in an interconnected world” and has written widely on leadership, partnership and collaboration.His professional background is in systems engineering. He worked for the BBC before moving to the University of Hertfordshire where he led teaching and research in telecommunications and information systems. After a period running the change management division of an international management consultancy business he set up his own consultancy practice in 1997.
Born in Tyneside, he was educated in Cambridge and has lived in Hertfordshire for over 25 years. He has been a Fellow of the RSA for over 8 years and was elected a member of the Fellowship Council representing the East of England in 2009.
His research interests include self-learning systems and complexity theory, particularly as applied to social change and public policy formation. He is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the IET.
