Fellows' Library

Search the RSA Library Catalogue

At the first meeting held by the Society it was decided that a book should be bought. After this the collection grew through purchase and presents. The first catalogue of the books, pamphlets and maps belonging to the Society was published in 1790, and we have been purchasing books ever since.

The library is open to RSA Fellows, and a Freepost service for book requests and returns is available for those unable to visit in person. Find out more about our services.

The library aims to have a working atmosphere, which includes library visitors making enquiries and being assisted by staff. Our facilities offer plenty of seating, considerable IT facilities and a separate lounge space for Fellows to read or talk. View our library policies.

Library holdings

In addition to our book and DVD stock, please note that the library also contains newspapers and journals.

The Library is also closed on Bank Holidays. It is very occasionally necessary to close the Library on other days; see below*.
