Virtual Meeting Point for Networks in Every US State
Have you ever met someone at the airport under the sign that reads "Meeting Point"? That's what Fellows are now doing virtually on the American Coffee House. A group in Texas has set up a meeting point at http://www.blog.rsa-us.org/2010/02/calling-texas-connecting-with-other-fellows-2/ and will get together in at least two locations, Austin and Dallas, for coffee and conversation.
A similar outreach is underway in Arizona http://www.blog.rsa-us.org/2010/02/calling-arizona-connecting-with-other-fellows/ and other states will follow. The goal is to generate communication across networks in every state, regardless of how many Fellows reside in that state. Two is company and three makes a network!
Why is this important? One of the primary reasons Fellows join the RSA is because they want to make a difference. The Fellowship is a hive of intersecting regional groups, project teams and social and intellectual networks and being an active part of that can be transformational for individuals, their organizations and their communities. Getting to know other Fellows is a first step.
