David Cameron: Civility and civil progress

Event Name David Cameron: Civility and civil progress
Start Date 23rd Apr 2007 10:00pm

Duration N/A
Description

In his speech, entitled, 'There is such a thing as society: encouraging pro-social behaviour', David Cameron will set out further thinking on the Conservative agenda for social responsibility on issues around giving people greater power, enabling them to play their full part in society; indeed how to put the 'civil' back in society.

The RSA is undertaking a series of initiatives to explore how we empower citizens to close the social aspiration gap (between the society we want and the society we are yet able to create). This has implications for the way we think about social change, for how we conduct politics and the goals and methods of public institutions. We are pleased that all major political parties are developing their thinking on this territory and we welcome David Cameron's contribution to this important debate.
