With Duncan Green, head of research, Oxfam Great Britain and author of From Poverty to Power.
Respondent: Robert Wade, Professor of Political Economy and Development, Development Studies Institute (DESTIN), London School of Economics
In a new book, From Poverty to Power, Duncan Green argues that the 21st Century will be defined by the fight against the scourges of poverty, inequality and the threat of environmental collapse - as the fight against slavery or for universal suffrage defined earlier eras.
Building on Oxfam's 60 years of experience in the poorest countries in the world, Duncan will argue that this requires a radical redistribution of power, opportunities and assets to break the cycle of poverty and inequality, and to give poor people power over their own lives.
