| Description |
Many young people in the UK are facing social exclusion as a result of a break-down in family and community structure. Educational under-achievement and long-term unemployment can lead to destructive behaviour cycles including drug and alcohol addiction and criminal activity. How can we empower young people to raise their aspirations and make constructive choices to help themselves?
Our panel will look at existing support services and programmes and discuss where there is room for improvement.
Panel to include: Rt Hon Iain Duncan Smith MP founder, Centre for Social Justice, Philip Udeh, founder, Community Builders, Juliet Lyon, director, Prison Reform Trust and Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, sports advisor, Vodafone Foundation.
Chair: Simon Lewis, director of corporate affairs, Vodafone
