How to enter
What to expect
After you've reviewed the briefs and decided which one/s you are going to work on, you'll spend the next several weeks or even months working on the project/s. To submit into the RSA Student Design Awards competition, you need to register, either online or by post, and send in your work. The deadline for registrations, entry fees and submission of work is 27 March 2013. You can register online, or by post by sending in a hard copy of the entry form. Once your registration and entry form are received (whether online or by post), you'll receive a confirmation e-mail.
Submissions into each brief are judged by a different judging panel. The panel will meet over two non-consecutive days to assess the submissions; the first meeting is a short-listing session and the second meeting consists of interviews with all short-listed candidates.

Briefs released
1 Sept
There are eight RSA Student Design Awards briefs this year for you to choose from. This year's briefs tackle a range of important social, economic and environmental issues. You can find out more about this year's projects on the briefs page.

Send your work
27 March
Registration, payment and work submissions must be received on or before Wednesday 27 March 2013. Registration will open from early January 2013 and work submissions will be accepted any weekday between Monday 11 February - Wednesday 27 March 2013.

Judging begins
2 April
The judging for each brief takes place over two meetings. For the 2012/13 briefs, the first judging panel will meet on 2 April 2013. RSA Student Design Awards judging panels consist of practicising designers, Royal Designers, representatives from industry, education and other sponsoring organisations.

Winners announced
1 June
Following interviews with all short-listed students, we'll announce the winners and commendations. All winners and their families/guests will be invited to a celebration in their honour in July 2013 at the RSA.
