Deputy Head of UK Areas

£38,902 - £45,050 per annum (commensurate with skills and experience) + benefits

35 hours per week, permanent, based in London WC2 (with frequent travel and evening work)


An exciting new role, Deputy Head of UK Areas, has been created to help lead a team to deliver and support Fellows’ activity at a local level.  Based at the RSA, you will join an enthusiastic team who lead on several important areas of work including the organisation of networking events and enabling connections between Fellows. 

In this role you will have the opportunity to work with Fellows and staff across the organisation to help shape activity, and with the Head of UK Areas, to develop and implement the team strategy. You will lead a sub team to deliver objectives and you will also provide an interface with Fellows across the South and London areas including acting as first single point of contact for the South East area.

With strong management skills and the ability to develop and motivate staff, you will also have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to engage and communicate with a variety of stakeholders at a senior level, understanding how to mobilise people and bring them together to achieve impact. With a strong commitment to the RSA’s values to empower individuals everywhere to turn their ideas into action you will understand how membership organisations work, have the ability to identify activity opportunities and sustain networks, as well as experience of event planning. Effective communication and participation skills are essential along with the ability to self-motivate.
