Director- RSA US

$75,000 per annum (commensurate with skills and experience)

35 hours per week, based in New York City

The RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce) is an enlightenment organization committed to finding innovative practical solutions to today’s social challenges.  Headquartered in the UK, the RSA combines research and innovations with a platform for ideas and a 28,000-strong Fellowship, helping to turn ideas into action. Our work focuses on influencing social change in three areas: learning and development; public services and communities; and economy and enterprise.  We are proud of the impact we’ve had in these areas, ranging from inspiring individual students to influencing national economic policy.

We are seeking an outstanding individual to shape and deliver the RSA’s strategy for impact in the US.  Working closely with the RSA US Board and RSA Global team in London, you will have a key role in delivering a strategy that cultivates an active network of people, convenes high quality public debate and catalyses creative ideas to drive positive social change.

You will have a wide-ranging role in this mission, using your creative thinking and passion for people to be change makers; your flair and interest in network-building and communications (online and beyond); and your great organisation skills. As an entrepreneurial self-starter who enjoys enabling others to turn their ideas into reality, you will have exceptional interpersonal and execution skills that allow you to build effective relationships. You will be comfortable with working with complexity, expertly straddling the RSA’s multiple stakeholders to support the US Fellowship network grow its impact. You will enjoy working with a high degree of autonomy and with limited direct oversight.

Note: the role will be wholly based in New York City, US and the post holder will be directly employed by RSA US.
