Head of Engagement
£45,891 - £53,142 per annum (commensurate with skills and experience) + benefits
35 hours per week, permanent, based in London WC2
Do you want to lead a team that is working with some of the brightest, most exciting people in the UK and abroad to help bring about real world change?
Over the past two years, our six-person Engagement Team has pioneered a range of innovative approaches to increasing the impact of the RSA’s work by harnessing the power of the RSA Fellowship.
As Head of Engagement, you will drive forward our work with Fellows and with staff across the organisation to bring about positive social change in all areas of our work. You will support high potential Fellow-led projects to achieve their goals and lead and manage the Engagement team, successfully developing the team’s strategy and delivering on objectives.
You will have an instinct for impact and a strong understanding of how to mobilise people and bring them together to create change. You will have great communication and organisational skills, and an ability to pick up information quickly and establish immediate credibility in a wide range of situations. You will think creatively about engagement opportunities, and want to apply research to the real world to make social change. You will have experience of building social movements, community mobilisation or similar; experience of (or a passion for) supporting projects or ventures to develop from a small scale into significant impact, as well as experience in (or an aptitude for) working with skilled volunteers to grow these projects.
The RSA combines thought leadership with civic innovation to further human progress. Building on our 260 year history as a beacon for enlightenment values, the RSA is currently at an exciting period in its history. We provide platforms for leading experts through the UK’s most ambitious free public lecture series, our projects generate new models for tackling the social challenges of today and we are building on our network of over 28,000 Fellows around the world – these are achievers and influencers from every field with a real commitment to progressive and social change.
