Sarah was appointed one of the two RSA Treasurers in October 2013.
Sarah Ebanja is self-employed, providing a range of project management, strategy development, facilitation and coaching services that draw upon her 20 plus years' of experience as a senior officer in London’s local and regional government.
Sarah is currently Chair of a 7,000 home housing and care group based in north and east London, with a major development programme underway, and is vice-chair of a specialist provider of homes for the homeless which is based in east London. Sarah also chairs a music and theatre venue in Tottenham in north London, and is a trustee of two relatively new not-for-profit organisations that support, nurture and develop young people aged 16 to 24. From 2006 to 2010, Sarah was Chair of the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust.
At a regional level, Sarah spent four years as the deputy chief executive of the London Development Agency and one year as a director at the Government Office for London. At a local level, Sarah’s roles have included deputy chief executive of Islington Council, interim managing director of Hackney Council and assistant director of Education & Finance at Lewisham Council. Whilst at Islington, Sarah spent five years as the Council’s lead for the new Arsenal Stadium and its related developments, whereby a driving force was the need to secure significant social & economic benefits for the area.
