Suzy Walton

Suzy is Deputy Chair of the RSA and also sits on the Audit and Risk Committee and the Remuneration Committee.

Suzy is a Chartered Director, Chartered Scientist and a Chartered Occupational Psychologist. She is a former Senior Civil Servant from the Cabinet Office and the Ministry of Defence with a Ph.D. gained from classified research in the Ministry of Defence.

Suzy serves on various Boards and committees including many in Government, such as the State Honours Committee. She is currently a Board member for the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) which is the regulator and funder of the university sector and she sits on their Audit Committee. She is also on the board of the Association for Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) which is the global regulator for accountancy. She is also on the board of the Institute of Directors (IoD) and Combat Stress which runs a set of hospitals for war veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Suzy is a former board member of Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and for six years was the Deputy Chairman of the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) which regulates the internet against child sexual abuse.

Suzy had a former career as a producer-presenter and editor for LBC Radio, BBC Television and Sky News. She is a mother of six children, the youngest being a baby born in 2014.
