Invest in energaia

Energaia's mission is to provide a sustainable food and nutrition source that can be utilised for its unparalleled nutritional value and the consumption of greenhouse gases. They're currently in talks to run three pilot project that will kickstart their social vision:  

  • Argentina: Pilot of the Energaia system to combat anaemia in middle school and high school children in a small province of Argentina (via a local foundation). The initial pilot would be for 1,000 children. If it works well then they will expand production to meet the needs 360,000 children in this low income province in the northeastern part of the country
  • Nepal: An installation of the Energaia system to provide highly nutritious and easy to digest fresh spirulina to 200+ patients in a hospital in Nepal. If demonstrated successfully then it would be installed at other hospitals, schools and NGO sites for disaster relief support. A USAID funded program overseen by Winrock has started early discussions with Energaia to support this project, but they cannot provide all of the necessary funding
  • Morocco: They are currently in discussion with the Swiss NGO, Antenna Technologies, to deploy one of our systems at a pilot project they have in Morocco this October as a pilot for combating anaemia in young girls (under the age of 16). If successful then Antenna would like to work with them to install more of our systems in rural India next year for the same purpose but on a larger scale. An added advantage of this project is that it happens to be quite timely with COP22 in Morocco this November and act as a showcase for Energia technology.


None of the above projects have the full funding available, so Energaia will need to raise part of the funds to initiate the program.

If you know of anyone who would be interested in investing in the development of Energaia, or anyone of the pilot programmes above, then please get in touch. 

Any one of the above projects could utilize around EUR 50,000 for the equipment cost, enough consumables to run the system for as long as possible (as much as we could fit in the shipping container - at least for 1+ years), shipping, and technical support. Experts would install the system and train the local people on how to operate and maintain it for the long term - plus there would be manuals to use as a reference.

The actual cost basis works out to only around EUR 50 per child to give them their daily basic iron and micronutrients they need to combat anaemia and micronutrient deficiency, as well as healthy sustainable protein, and other beneficial vitamins and minerals, for at least 5 years based on the current system life projects (could be longer, there has not been any fails yet after 2.5 years so the projection is at least 5 years for now). When viewed in this light, the cost from a humanitarian perspective is quite reasonable. This is part of Energaia's social mission as a social enterprise.

The commercial farm in Thailand has over three years of successful commercial operating track record. Once there are a few installations around the world operating for this purpose, then it should be much easier to attract broader funding to scale even further for the same purpose in other developing world countries.
