The lack of transparency in the current Nepalese bureaucratic system is creating a cycle of exploitation where receiving basic public services can be difficult and take unnecessary amounts of time
Nalibeli (which means “to fully understand an issue”) provides citizens with step-by-step instructions on how to access public services in Nepal. It is a virtual resource that uses web-based wiki-tools to crowd-source information, allowing citizens to build the knowledge they need to better navigate government. Nalibeli will save citizens time, money, and difficulty, improve the functioning of government administration and create a more equal, just society.
how can fellows can help
Future support from Fellows would be very useful in developing ideas for:
- Building out the Nalibeli revenue streams to maintain sustainability over time.
- Technical support to improve the online interface; help to improve the project outreach materials (video and media support).
- Support for strategy and organisational development.
