Open Source has revolutionised software development; Solderpad was created as a place to share, discover and collaborate on electronic projects.
New developments have created a level playing field of collaboration and opportunity for everyone from individuals and SMEs to multinationals and developing nations. Open source hardware such as Arduino and desktop 3D printers are already creating opportunities for learning, prototyping and micro-enterprise and are a mainstay at Fab Labs and their grassroots contemporaries, hackspaces.
How Fellows can Help
In terms of sector expertise Solderpad would be keen to collaborate with fellows that have electronics industry experience, and in particular within the areas of EDA, prototyping, small-scale manufacture and component sourcing. With regards skills-specific expertise the team are keen to work with fellows that have experience of business model development.
