RSA Arts & Ecology has been working with Animate Projects to commission a series of one-minute films for the internet. Seven artists were asked to address ecological themes. The result will be launched at the British Film Institute at 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday 4 November.  Please keep this date in your diary if you are interested in attending. If you on our database, you will receive an emailed invitation. If you are not, and would like to be included, please email art@rsa.org.uk

The films are part of fostering the connections between the art world and the social and environmental challenges of our time. The artists’ responses are a mixture of being witty, provocative, disturbing and wise in their comment on the unprecedented environmental challenges of the 21st century.

After the event at the BFI, and as soon as our new website goes live later in November, we will have the films available online.

Our next step will then be to connect the artists’ depictions of grim futures if so many of us maintain unsustainable lifestyles (me included I’m ashamed to say, despite some effort), with the multitude of information on adapting to more equitable and resource-light ways of living.
