Background

The Bradford Cities of Learning project builds upon the extensive work of the Careers and Technical Education (CTE) partnership in creating a unified technical and transferable skills curriculum for young people in Bradford.

Our team is working to support the badging of 10 priority pathways within their programme – including manufacturing, creative, transport and the public sector.

We will also work to identify new potential pathways, bringing in a wider range of providers to participate in the programme, particularly from the voluntary and third sectors.

Working in partnership

The programme is led on the ground by the CTE partnership – part of Bradford Metropolitan District Council and included in the wider SkillsHouse employer-led initiative.

The CTE partnership is a place for district leaders, to lead and shape the skills agenda for young people.

Its key work has been mapping 78 pathways into 15 key local sectors, also establishing its own essential skills framework to enable development of key transferable and employability skills for the young people of Bradford.
