We feel left out! Apparently there was scarce mention of the arts at all on the main platforms at any of the conferences, and only at some fringe events. Even at the latter I imagine none explored the crossover between art and environmental issues and their human impact.

So we will do everything we can to amend this next year and to highlight the significant contribution the arts can and should be making to discussions which centre on our collective futures. As a sector it is a tiny part of Government spend, but the arts could punch far above their weight if we did but push for more of a platform outside galleries, museums, theatres, dance and music venues, as well as inside them.

If anyone is interested in contributing to righting this omission in 2009 please let us know at anytime from now on.
