Last week a cheeky friend referred to this blog as a bit Marie Claire. They didn't specify whether it was my writing style or the generally pink-ness of the graphics. I actually think this actually puts me in quite good company for a newcomer to blogging... So in the best women's magazine style, reproduced here are Marie Claire's 10 top tips to lead a greener lifestyle:

  1. Take a stand against standby
  2. Boil less, freeze more
  3. Try not to fly
  4. Turn out the bright lights
  5. Use renewable energy
  6. Take a low-power shower
  7. Cut car trips
  8. Wrap up your home
  9. Sort your washing out
  10. Recycle

I think they're pretty good tips (#9 means try to use your tumble dryer less by the way). And here are their 10 top healthy diets:

  1. Gwyneth Paltrow’s Detox Diet
  2. The Eat-Clean Diet by Tosca Reno
  3. Eating in the Raw by Carol Alt

  5. Skinny Bitch in the Kitch by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin
  6. The Volumetrics Eating Plan by Barbara Rolls, Ph.D
  7. The No-Diet Diet by Esther Blum
  8. The ‘Hypno-Diet’
  9. Weight Watchers
  10. The Zone Diet by Dr. Barry Sears

...but don't ask me what any of those are. Always good to hear your feedback on the blog.
