I’ve just completed an MSc in Health Community & Development at LSE, which used Social Psychology as a basis for analysis, emphasising the need to move beyond the individual focus of most social development programmes, and using qualitative approaches to understand social representations, social capital and social networks and how they can contribute to collective action to improve people’s lives.

The RSA Connected Communities programme is an exciting series of action research projects to take forward our understanding of the role of social capital and social networks. I’m looking forward to working with you, and would love to hear about the work you’re doing on harnessing social capital and social networks (both online and offline) to overcome barriers to social progress.
