What an amazing summer it has been! The RSA US recently hosted a number of events over the summer in some instances in close collaboration with our partner organizations such as the St. George’s Society, the British American Project, British American Business Council (Pacific Northwest) and the British Consulates in key cities in the US.

The summer commenced in grand style with a dinner with RSA Fellows based in Providence Rhode Island at Brown University Faculty Club. The dinner was co-hosted by Boston British Consul General Susie Kitchens, Rhode Island Secretary of Commerce Stefan Pryor and Lolita Jackson Chair of RSA US who spoke about the possibilities inherent in a close relationship among our organisations.

This was followed by a NYC RSA Fellows Mixer hosted by RSA Fellows – Eoin Billings and Duncan Jackson of the Billings Jackson Design agency. It was a great evening of cocktails and conversation. NYC based RSA Fellows and past RSA Student Design Award winners also attended. Some even indicated that it was the very first time meeting up with other Fellows in NYC!

In July the St. George’s Society hosted the New York British American Societies' Annual Summer Garden Party. Several Fellows attended the event which featured the incoming NY British Consul General Antonia Romeo. It was a great occasion to meet other RSA Fellows and members from other British Societies based in the US.

The RSA US were pleased to host a fire side chat in collaboration with BABC-PNW, the British American Project and the Trade Development Alliance of Greater Seattle with British Consul General Priya Guha. At the event, after a brief introduction to the invited guests by the Seattle British Consul Robin Twyman, Priya reflected on her five years representing the United Kingdom across the Pacific Northwest and Northern California.

As the month of August drew to a close, RSA US Chair Lolita Jackson was the featured speaker at the event entitled A Conversation with the RSA US Chair hosted by Susan Wilson, Principal Officer of the US Consulate based in Edinburgh. Other speakers included Jamie Cooke, Head of RSA Scotland.

Among the invitees to the event were members of the US Consulate Young Leaders Network, RSA and BAP Fellows as well as Fulbright scholarship recipients based in Scotland.

The event provided a great forum for all participants to discuss ideas for building links between Scotland and the US and areas of engagement in RSA activities.

On her visit to the UK, Lolita also met with Regional Chairs from the North East of England & Scotland and met with staff at the RSA House in London.

Ann Packard RSA Chair Scotland, Lolita Jackson, RSA US Chair and Pauline Moger RSA Chair, North East of England.

Stay Tuned for upcoming events
