Sulamita Aronovsky FRSA is seeking support for the London International Piano Competition, a prestigious contest that exhibits talented upcoming musicians and helps to break down some of the perceived barriers to classical music.

You do not have to be a professional musician to be interested in an International Piano Competition - take a look at our mini-film http://bit.ly/LIPC2018film

Helping young musicians has been the main incentive in my life.  Personally I consider myself lucky, having succeeded to catapult quite a few of them into the international concerts orbit. Among those who were discovered and encouraged by the LIPC, we are proud to have the likes of Behzod Abduraimov, Simon Trpceski, Paul Lewis, Alessio Bax, Ashley Wass and Nicholas Angelich.

The LIPC is the only major London based International Piano Competition, which also serves as a catalyst of musical education to the younger generation through scholarships. In addition it has always been my intention to interest the wider public in the event, and to break down perceived barriers of classical music, by bringing in a more diverse part of the community.

I founded the Competition over 25 years ago, and it is now entering a new, exiting phase, with my team preparing for the 2018 edition. It is all about providing opportunities for the participants to perform, and for audiences to enjoy the encounter with the artists of tomorrow. With London being a major global centre for classical music, the Competition is well-placed for attracting talent from all over the world. It has always been held at the prestigious Southbank Centre (including the RFH, QEH and Purcell Room), in collaboration with major London institutions, such as the Royal Academy of Music and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

I am eager to preserve and develop our achievements, and therefore am now seeking support from the RSA Fellows, who I hope will be interested in the project.  Goodwill of a philanthropist(s) is urgently needed to bridge the funding gap and ensure the future of the event. Could this be you? If so, or if you are able to recommend a suitable individual who may be able to help, please contact:
